Legacy Giving

Assuring a Future for our Community

There are few acts more powerful than that of leaving a tangible legacy to those individuals and institutions you care most deeply about.  Planning for your legacy is a life and values-affirming act – one that reveals much about what matters most to you.

Congregation Beth El’s Legacy Giving Program will be vital to sustaining Beth El for many generations to come. All of us who care about robust Jewish communal life in the East Bay, who have benefitted from Beth El’s long and rich history of providing meaningful Jewish connection and continuity to so many,  have an opportunity to help secure the future of this vital Jewish community.  And all of us, regardless of age, wealth or affiliation, have the ability to leave a legacy.

A legacy gift of any size can be customized and structured to fit your dreams, lifestyle, family, and financial needs.  Leaving a legacy can be simple.

Options include:
  • Bequest in a Will

  • Gift of Life Insurance

  • Gift of IRA or Pension Fund

  • Gift of Cash, Property or Assets

  • Charitable Remainder Trust

  • Charitable Lead Trust

  • Charitable Gift Annuity

If you would like to inform us of your planned gift, please fill out and sign a Letter of Intent, a simple form that declares your intent to establish a legacy gift.  You do not need to specify an amount.  And, you do not give any money now. Once you sign a Letter Of Intent, a member of the Legacy Team will contact you to answer your questions, provide information, and to review any additional paperwork necessary to document your legacy pledge. After your pledge has been documented, you will become part of the Beth El Legacy Circle, a visionary group of fellow congregants who share your deep commitment.

Read some Testimonials of other legacy circle members to see what inspired them to give a legacy gift.
