URJ Camps

Camp Newman

Camp Newman, the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) camp serving the Jewish Community Federation of the East Bay, provides a fun summer experience that teaches essential Jewish values and explores what it means to be a part of the Jewish identity and larger Jewish community. By doing so, Camp Newman hope that the campers will bring home what they have learned and incorporate it to their daily lives.

Located in Santa Rosa, the camp hosts 1,400 over campers aged 7-17 each summer. Campers can pick and choose from: a sports program, a performing and visual arts program, and an adventure program where they can develop long-term friendships and invaluable new skills, and a sense of their own Jewish identity. Some of these activities include soccer, aquatics, ceramics, candle making, music, paddle boating, zip-lining, hiking, and an Alpine tower and ropes course. Campers will also participate in inspirational Shabbat experiences, song sessions, and Havdallah.
