midrasha
Seventh grade graduation from Religious School marks not an end to Jewish Education but a beginning to MIDRASHA, our Hebrew high school program. The students study a variety of exciting subjects, with excellent teachers at a high school level. Midrasha meets on Sunday mornings with optional midweek afternoon classes. There is a strong informal component to the program, combining weekend retreats with weekly classes. These programs operate at camps around the Bay Area and are open to students enrolled in any East Bay Jewish High School program, thereby expanding Beth El students' circle of Jewish teenage friends. In addition, tenth graders have an opportunity to travel to Israel during the summer. Tenth grade is also highlighted by the Shavuot Kabbalat Torah (Confirmation) ceremony. |
