Interfaith Community Events

At Beth El we are working to establish links with other faith communities, as well as connections within the Jewish community. We have teams working with newly arrived refugees and are hoping to have accompaniment teams for immigrants without secure residence permits. We also sponsor a vigil at the Richmond Detention Center. We welcome everyone to participate in these many interfaith events which are happening in our wider community. If you are interested in helping to foster and plan connections, please contact Caroline Lehman and Gadi Meir.

Sunday May 13th from 11am – noon
;  Mother's Day!
Vigil at Richmond Detention Center,   5555 Giant Hwy, Richmond, CA 94806
We are partnering with Kehilla and Bend the Arc to support Detainees and their families.  The Vigils at the West County Detention Center bring together a variety of Jewish groups to hear from detainee families about impacts of immigration policies. There are speakers from other community or political organizations, education, music, and children’s activities.
THIS MONTH, Beth El is supporting the vigil  by supplying snacks (energy/granola bars, small packages of raisins or crackers), waters, and fruit for families visiting detainees. We also will be writing cards and letters for all mothers.  You are encouraged to bring instruments and other noise makers for our protest!
If you would like more information or to donate food and writing supplies please contact Madelyn Stone,
