Congregation Beth El's Community Covenant KAVOD (Respect)
Congregation Beth El's Community Covenant KAVOD (Respect)
Congregation Beth El has adopted the following Community Covenant to support respectful engagement in our community. KAVOD serves to articulate our agreements for sustaining and nurturing these relationships. It supports our efforts to communicate directly, honestly, and compassionately - particularly at times of conflict - and to reinforce our commitment to being a holy community.
KINDNESS and EMPATHY
We treat each other with lovingkindness, honoring the principle of Tzelem Elohim, that we are all created in the Divine Image.
APPROACH WITH CURIOSITY
We approach each other with respectful curiosity, listening to and learning from people with ideas different from our own.
VALUE DIVERSE POINTS OF VIEW
We value community that includes a wide range of perspectives, practices, experiences, and backgrounds.
OPEN TO EACH OTHER
We are open to engaging with each other as part of our commitment to contributing to the life of our community.
DIALOGUE WITH RESPECT
We speak to and about each other with respect, as we would like to be respected for who we are and what we bring to our community.
