HOLIDAYS & FESTIVALS
The Jewish calendar is full of opportunities for us to come together in community and find pathways to deeper meaning, purpose, belonging and joy. Beth El observes the annual holidays with services, celebrations, study programs and opportunities for engagement and social action. Click here for more information about the history, meaning and observance of the holidays. Please visit our homepage for information on upcoming holidays, programs and celebrations.
At Beth El, we intentionally create multigenerational and intergenerational programming, especially for the following four holidays:
CHANUKAH
The Festival of Lights always falls during the darkest time of year, reminding us to seek out and even become light sources in our world. Add your light to our community’s celebrations this year! Event information coming soon...
PURIM
Purim is about the play between what’s hidden and what is revealed, resilience and bravery in impossible circumstances and, above all, the simple release of joy and fun! Join us this year for feasting, hamantaschen and general merry-making!
TU B’SHEVAT
Tu B’Shevat celebrates the New Year of the Trees and invites us to connect with our Earth and our own cycles of renewal as we mark the beginning of the transition from winter into spring. Join us - both indoors and outdoors - for this year’s hands-on multi-sensory experience. Event information coming soon...
PASSOVER (PESACH)
On Passover we retell our People’s core story of redemption and freedom. The festival is primarily observed at home, but at Beth El we also create joyful and meaningful opportunities for our community to celebrate together. We hope you’ll join us this year! Event information coming soon.
