Tisha B'Av, the 9th day of the month of Av on the Hebrew calendar, is one of the most somber days of the Jewish year. In keeping with one of the observances of Tisha B'Av, we will honor the day with an informal reading of Eicha, the Book of Lamentations. This year, as Erev Tisha B'Av falls on a Saturday evening, we'll begin with Havdalah, marking the separation between the end of Shabbat and the beginning of Tisha B'Av and the week ahead.
If there is a specific set of verses that you would like to read or chant, in either English or Hebrew, please let us know in advance; otherwise, please just show up, and we will go around in a circle and read and hear the text together.
